It has been a long time since a blog has been posted with regards to the future of Tucker Tek and the Contractor Automation Tool. We have plans to have the NEW Portal up and running in Beta Mode by the end of 2011.

I would like to thank everyone for their patience, as we had taken some time to further design our portal and with the help of some great feedback. Consistent with changing times, our portal will be made available for most handheld devices.

Stay tunned in to this Blog as we continue our developments and keep you up to date with our progress.

Open Discussions

Well as intrigued as I was to work with what appeared to be a classic management group, I am afraid that their lack of communication is a little to be desired.

I realize discussions like this can take some time to negotiate, fine tune, etc.; but where is the good business in the lack of communication. I feel that people that leave potential partners out of a loop have a great deal to hide or they simply want to stall further developments for their own personal or professional gain. I would like to hear the viewers comments on this!

New Direction Discussions

Recently, I have opened discussions with a Company to blend my Technology with theirs in hopes of defining an overall program, so much more diversified than that of Tucker Tek existing offering.

This will NOT elliminate the Contractor Automation Tool (CAT), but rather enhance its capabilities and integrate it into an existing project management platform with a current user base.

For now, I am rather intrigued with the opportunity and hope to keep you all posted as we move forward with our discussions.

New Direction Options

OPTIONS

There are potentially 3 different things that have to take place for the continued development of this platform. There is the option in having equity in Tucker Tek, Inc. as the primary developer. However, after some inquiries already made, I am prepared to take a back seat to this development where someone can essentially buy my technology and concept and make it theirs. Consideration plus ongoing royalties with a fixed buyout price -negotiable is definately an option.

If equity in Tucker Tek is the consideration or that of the Newco (Brand), there should be a management lead (Investor), additional management, and a development team in place. With that being said, it is expected that Tucker Tek will create a Brand Co to become the flagship of this development, one that is relevant to the portal and its market relationship.

New Direction

Tucker Tek has always wanted to see their development rise and shine within the realm of cloud computing, otherwise known as SaaS (software as a service). Due to personal reasons, I might have to outsource the continued development and management of our Web Portal.

The concept is sound and the market is viable too, as you all may know, the economy took a dive over the last year bringing the construction industry almost to a complete halt. However, this is slowly changing due to the economy bouncing back a bit.

When you place your time and energy into something big, knowing that it should not be done by any one individual, but rather by a team of professionals, you become too close to the project and it then effects your life style, health and family.

With this being said, I make this offer to all interested parties who feel they have what it takes to make this Web Portal come to life and go to market.

Development
Under Non-Disclosure-Agreement (NDA), Complete Source Code and White Papers will be made available to the right party(s) and an equity stake and/or revenue share. Individuals and/or company will have to prove to me that they have the passion and resources to finish this development, which I foresee to be completed in a ASP.Net platform.

Subject to experience, time frame and requested equity, will determine how much of a security/investment will be required!

Management
Under Non-Disclosure-Agreement (NDA), Individuals and/or company will have to prove to me that they have the passion and resources to bring this product to market when the development has been completed. However, circumstances may predict that the management and developers are one and the same, therefore an overall review of the capabilities and resources available to the GROUP that feels they have what it takes, will also determine how much money will be requested for the equity being offered.

Proposed Business Function
The new direction of the developers and management must commit to reach a certain degree of success over the next 3-5 years. I suggest the person and/or parties interested have their direction outlined accordingly to move forward.

There is life in this project and a huge market potential too, if you can see that then you will not have a problem putting an offer on the table, otherwise please do not waste my time and yours!

Explanation
This project requires a team of professionals to work together for life of the project; some development and market focus has changed based on the current economy, changes that include the need for BlackBerry compatibility and other hand held products including iPhone.

I own full copyright on the source code and have pursued patent searches based on the concept and the design. I have consulted with lawyers to protect my rights.

I'm a big fan of SaaS software solutions and with those that integrate and automate complex workflow processes. Tucker Tek's Contractor Automation Tool (CAT) fits this bill like a custom made glove. I predict that it will become the Gold Standard CRM for the construction industry.

Another Day @ Tucker Tek

The more we start getting closer to our August Launch of our new Web-Portal, the more it becomes a reality to gather a professional team together in order to fulfill the requirements and needs of Tucker Tek.

Therefore, any inserts here and/or suggestions for bringing this new Portal up-2-par, will be welcomed.

How we are currently establishing our user base: we are giving the Memberships away for ALL contractor's, considered Charter Members; we are selling Sponsorships to supplier's in order to have them assist us in establishing our user membership, increase their bottom line and generate additional revenue by gaining access to other contractor's.

Of course, we are not going to be doing this for ever, because once the Portal is up and running, we will be charging new contractor members $50 - $75 per month, subject to the plan they are on. The Contractor Automation platform will be used by Contractor's, Supplier's and the Consumer to manage those every day tasks involved with producing an estimate and increasing your bottom line.

As Tucker Tek works out its offerings to Contractor's and Supplier's, we are trying to find new ways to address the economic downturn. While unforeseen issues come up, we are wondering where and when it might end; when is enough? what is enough? How far should a company go to satisfy the every need of a user? Because you cannot satisfy every need due to personal and professional mind-sets of user's.

It would be great to establish some feedback from all industries to help us address some of these questions and concerns that we seem to be overwhelmed with.

Web-Portal Platform

TuckerTek is finalizing a Web-Portal platform intended to serve the Contractor community with an end-2-end suite of service functionality that will manage all pre and post sales communications and transaction activities with prospects and customers, suppliers and sub contractors. It will be the first Internet Portal that links the contractor to suppliers, delivering electronic data from desktop to desktop utilizing a unified purchase order system. It will become the Gold Standard for the way contractors reach out to new prospects, maintain existing client relationships, produce estimates, and manage jobs.
